Shockwave 3D lights (REDUX) for Piper Super Cub X

Hello,

First of all I want to introduce myself. I'm a guy from Austria and a 'power user' of FS since 1983 (FSII on Commodore 64). I observed all the developments with big interest all the years.

Sometimes, when my spare times allows it, I also do some repaints or modelling log cabins for FS, or even 'Missions/Adventures' for FSX.

I really want to place here a _big Thank You_ for this masterpiece of art, the Piper Super Cub X, which has earned to be in everyone's acft collection. Very Happy

IMHO Shockwave 3D Lights (REDUX) are a great enhancement for the Piper Super Cub X too!

I'll describe the procedure how to add the 3D Lights (REDUX) for the Piper Super Cub X
models:

GFA Super Cub Aerobatic
GFA Super Cub Amphibian
GFA Super Cub Floats
==> GFA Super Cub Skis (special procedure required) <==
GFA Super Cub Tundra Large
GFA Super Cub Tundra Medium
GFA Super Cub Wheels

Assuming you have already installed the "Shockwave 3D Lights (REDUX)" continue with following steps.

STEP 00 Keep in mind: Doing all following steps at your own risk!

STEP 01 IMPORTANT: Make a backup of _all_ your "Aircraft.cfg"-files residing in the tree
/../FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/GFA Super Cub XXX,
where "XXX" means the name of the 7 different Super Cub versions.

STEP 02 Make a backup of _all_ 4 "panel.cfg"-files residing in the tree
/../FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/GFA Super Cub Wheels/YYY
where "YYY" means:
panel.round_key
panel.round_magneto
panel.simple
panel.square

STEP 03 Edit (with notepad.exe) each of the 4 panel.cfg files seperately as followed:
o search for "[Vcockpit01]"
o locate the last gaugexx=... line of this section
o add following line:
gaugeYY=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave lights
o replace YY with the next number in sequence!
example:
gauge08=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave lights

STEP 04 Save the changed panel.cfg file.

STEP 05 Open the file "Aircraft.cfg" from each folder BESIDES THE SKI-VERSION FOLDER
for editing - We'll talk about the ski version later.

STEP 06 Replace following lines:

[Lights]
light.0 = 3, -2.6, -17.35, 1.85, fx_navred
light.1 = 3, -2.6, 17.35, 1.85, fx_navgre
light.2 = 1, -17.90, 0.00, 4.3, fx_beacon
light.3 = 4, -2.5, 0, 1.5, fx_vclightaero

with those lines:

[Lights]
light.0 = 3, -2.6, -17.35, 1.85, fx_navred
light.1 = 3, -2.6, 17.35, 1.85, fx_navgre
light.2 = 1, -17.90, 0.00, 4.3, fx_beacon
light.3 = 4, -2.5, 0, 1.5, Fx_shockwave_vclight //virtual cockpit light
light.4 = 5, -1.45, -11.7, 1.8, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small // landing light
light.5 = 6, -1.45, -12.2, 1.8, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small // taxi light

STEP 06 Now the procedure for the SKI version. Open the file "Aircraft.cfg" from the
Ski-folder for editing and replace following lines:

[Lights]
light.0 = 3, -2.6, -17.35, 1.85, fx_navred
light.1 = 3, -2.6, 17.35, 1.85, fx_navgre
light.2 = 1, -17.90, 0.00, 4.3, fx_beacon
light.3 = 4, -2.5, 0, 1.5, fx_vclightaero

with those lines:

[Lights]
light.0 = 3, -2.6, -17.35, 1.85, fx_navred
light.1 = 3, -2.6, 17.35, 1.85, fx_navgre
light.2 = 1, -17.90, 0.00, 4.3, fx_beacon
light.3 = 4, -2.5, 0, 1.5, Fx_shockwave_vclight //virtual cockpit light
light.4 = 5, -1.45, -11.7, 1.8, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small // landing light wing
light.5 = 5, -1.45, 0, -2.9, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small // lower center landing light
light.6 = 6, -1.45, -12.2, 1.8, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small // taxi light

STEP 07 Save all and have fun !

WOW! Thanks. A project for 2morrow. It just keeps getting better and better. Then I can check them out while I fly out the Pybus Bay Lodge.
