Fri Dec 05, 2008 3:36 am Tongass X landscape complete! |
  |
Hi all,
well, as of today I have completed all work on the landscape components of Tongass Fjords X. This includes the terrain mesh, water bodies and colors, road coverage, photoreal glaciers, seasonal changes, and all custom ground textures with their autogen vegetation.
To celebrate I took a long flight across the area and took a couple of screenshots. Let me know if you have any specific locations you'd like to see preview images of.
What remains to be done now are primarily the placement of objects in the settlements and at seaplane bases and the autogen annotations of the seventeen photoreal areas. Moving right along...
Cheers, Holger

Stunning shots Holger, I am drolling on my keyboard as I type.
I noticed the ground variations in color and the trees seem smaller, less compact is this part of your new custom ground textures with their autogen? What autogen settings are you using?
What areas are the photoreal ones?
Thanks so much for the update!!

Wow indeed! As a long-standing Tongass devotee, I only wish that I had a machine capable of running FSX, and could be a part of this rather than a mere onlooker

Fantastic ! I've been looking forward to this and a new version of Misty Fjords since FSX came out.
Holger, I think I read somewhere that there will definitely be a new Glacier Bay as well sometime in the not too distant future - is that still correct?
Anyway, congratulations on another masterpiece.

Wow Wow Wow, Great looking stuff, it's so darn real. BTW you made Bronson Creek the way it should be! I love flying in Australia but love to fly in CAN/AK even more..
I heard that FTX PWN BLUE will be compatible with TFX (or the other way around) but it's all frickin' awesome!
