Land instead of water after install or SP1/SP2/Acceleration?

If after installing Vancouver+ you see land where there should be water around the Vancouver downtown peninsula, or elsewhere, please do the following:

Plan A:

1) Run the repair function: Start->All Programs->FSAddon->Vancouver+ FSX->Uninstall, then choose Repair and click Next.
2) Run the configurator, choose your options
3) See if this fixes it up.

If this doesn't fix it go Plan B:

1) Uninstall Vancouver+
2) From the Start Menu choose "Run" and in the window that says "Open"....
3) Type 'regedit' and press enter
4a) 32-bit Operating System users (most people) navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0\ If you don't have this key, see Plan C, below, then do Plan B again.
4b) 64-bit OS users navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0\
5) Double click the subkey 'SetupPath'
6) Place the missing backslash '\' at the end of the path, and click "OK"

For example,

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Becomes...

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\

7) Exit Regedit
8) Reinstall Vancouver+

Plan C - missing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0\

The problem is due to having installed FSX for the current user only. To fix this, get FSX Registry Utility.

1) Double click FSXRegUtility.exe
2) Under the 'Set Path' tab and in the textbox labeled 'Select FSX Root Folder', navigate to the FSX root folder.
3) Finally press the button labeled 'Set FSX Path' and then exit.
This will add FSX to your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry.
ie HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0\

That should fix it up.

I lost all my water after installing the Vancouver + program..

I am able to get water back with only the HIGH PRIORITY file enabled, and the mid and low disabled... also really low framerates.

any suggestions?

Yes tried that already... and again following your directions.. still 0 difference. I hope this is fixable... what a bunch of money to spend on a faulty program ... it looks soooo good too from the reviews...

MWG82, to be clear after running the FSXRegistry tool and following Scot's instructions, did you run the Van+ configurator, then click "Apply Settings and Exit"? Then run FSX and check the scenery out?

We know we can fix the problem by manually fixing your terrain.cfg file. You can attach it here, or email it to me at flightsim at jonpatch dot ca and I'll fix it and get it back to you pronto.

But we'd also like to understand why this happens, it's extremely rare, but I can understand how annoying it is. We want happy users.

Ok followed all directions, thanks, no luck though. I emailed the terrain.cfg file to the email address provided. I ll check after work tomorrow and see what happens. Thank you very much.

If you are having this problem on installing Vancouver+ in FSX do not despair. Within hours of notifying that I had this problem and supplying my terrain.cfg, DXDiag report and my PC specs, the FS ADDon team had sent me a reconfigured terrain.cfg file which instantly resolved the situation. Very Happy

WOW!! AMAZING!! it all works great! hahaha i am soooo IMPRESSED! you guys are incredible! i can see the place under the abbotsford mission bridge for trains where i used to hang out sometimes as a young kid even!! WOW! too much for words, im greatful for the help too!

Thanks for your patience, MWG82. We're still not sure why this occurs, so be aware that until we find a permanent fix, if you uninstall and reinstall Vancouver+ you may have the same issue. Will advice.
